Islamabad Traffic Police Announce Strict Action Against Violations

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police have announced a city-wide crackdown on traffic violations to improve road safety and discipline. Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Zeeshan Haider stated that the campaign will involve strict enforcement of traffic laws and heavy penalties for offenders.

The new measures are aimed at curbing a range of violations, including underage driving, over-speeding, dangerous driving, one-wheeling, lane violations, and vehicle overloading. According to the CTO, offenders may face not only monetary fines but also legal action, including arrests in severe cases.

“Driving without a valid license or vehicle documents will not be tolerated under any circumstances,” said CTO Zeeshan. “Any vehicle being operated illegally—whether by an underage driver or without registration—will be impounded and taken to the police station.”

He further warned that motorists involved in one-wheeling or reckless driving will be dealt with strictly. The police will also take firm action against those who park their vehicles illegally, especially in congested markets and public places.

The campaign will include the deployment of additional traffic personnel at busy intersections and the use of surveillance cameras to monitor violations. Awareness campaigns will also be conducted in schools, colleges, and public areas to educate citizens about safe driving practices.

The Islamabad Traffic Police have urged citizens to cooperate and follow traffic laws for their safety and the safety of others on the road.
