Finance Minister Aurangzeb Vows to Ease Financial Pressure on Salaried Class
ISLAMABAD: Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb has assured that the government is working to reduce the financial burden on the salaried class, while also pushing forward with key economic reforms.
Speaking at an event on Monday, the finance minister said that a significant drop in the policy rate has already started to benefit Pakistan’s economy. “The world is noticing Pakistan’s economic progress and has acknowledged our improving economic situation,” he stated.
Aurangzeb emphasized that the government is committed to easing pressure on the working class. “We are working on a simplified tax system for salaried individuals, and efforts are being made to lighten their financial load,” he added.
He shared that the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) is undergoing a digital transformation. “Automation and reduced human involvement will lead to greater transparency in the system,” he explained.
Highlighting broader reforms, the minister said that changes are also being introduced in the energy and taxation sectors. “These long-term reforms aim to bring stability and sustainable growth to the economy,” he said.
Aurangzeb further mentioned that pension reform is also in progress. “We expect a reduction in the burden of debt repayments, which will help us manage our finances better,” he noted.
